Supplemental Post # 1

Wednesday 26 March to Thursday 27 March

Fighting the jet lag, I make a list of of big plusses I have encountered so far:

  • The plane leaves on time
  • The flight is really quiet and smooth
  • The middle seat in my row is empty
  • My seat mate is a friendly young woman headed to study in Padua for a term
  • Landing smooth
  • Weather dry with high clouds
  • I’m staying awake so far
  • Check in time at the Harlingford is 1300, so no waiting for a room
  • Got a room on the top floor. It’s a good hike, but cute. Small but with a good bathroom. A lot like the Mayflower but less rinky-dink, like the Crescent but less dowdy. Still a little worn at the edges, but it’s London
  • Out to take a few photos around Bloomsbury, as long as the weather is dry -- good walking weather as a matter of fact.
  • Dipped in and out of the British Museum -- it’s free, you can do that
  • Wagamama? Of course -- salad that you have to cut with a spoon because they have no knives. Are they worried about violent diners? Never mind, it’s delicious
  • Sleep, not too bad (and that’s good)
