Here's a photo taken last week. It was hard to get a good angle, but I like how the colors came out. This totem pole is in Tumwater Falls Park, home of the now defunct Olympia Brewery and some Department of Fish & Wildlife hatchery ponds. The ponds are full of frustrated leaping Chinook salmon that are about to be "harvested" so that this strong hatchery run can continue. I like to think the eagle on the totem pole is watching out for them.
More Tumwater news: The coffee place going in near my office (an area that is otherwise a drinking and dining wasteland) is not Zoka, but Forza. Well, I got some of the letters right, anyway! Looks somewhat promising. If it has wifi and decent coffee it'll be a hit with me . . . .
